Talking about football Joachim Schmid presents a set of photographs of satellite views of Brazilian football fields in the suburbs of big cities proposing a double reflection, urban development and sports.
Besides the exhibition, three conferences to talk about football and its roll in the contemporary society:
- Football and society, with Enric González, Juan Villoro and Jorge Valdano.
- Football and homophobia, moderated by Ibon Zubiaur, with John Amaechi and Hans Bonde.
- Football and economy: the economic dimension of football, moderated by Martí Perarnau with Stefan Szymanski, José María Gay de Liébana and Joaquín Almunia.

Sala Rekalde presents an exhibition of paintings, Sounds of water / Sonidos de agua by Rufo Criado (Aranda de Duero, 1952), an artist whose work has evolved from traditional mediums to digital image creation.
As said… “The exhibition presents around 40 works made from 1994 to 2010. paintings in several mediums, light boxes and a projection that are closely linked to the experience of water, some of them in a very direct way and other in a more evocative and abstract ways.
The project Rufo Criado proposes for Sala Rekalde is structured around the work Sounds of water, which is shown complete for the first time in Bilbao and is comprised of a sequence of ten paintings (each of them executed in 2002, on galvanised sheet measuring 240 x 60 x 6 cm.).”

“ZAWP Bilbao (Zorrotzaurre Art Working Progress) is a project that borns from the Cultural Association hACERIA Arteak in 2008 in the context of the Master Plan urbanistic process placed in Ribera de Deusto- Zorrotzaurre district of Bilbao City.
ZAWP Bilbao pretends to be the artistic, innovative and creative look of this urban transformation process and turn this area into a new reference of creation and innovation.”
ZAWP Bilbao is based on 4 interdependent axis:
Actions-Expressions: Puntual interventions for innovation and creativity.
Spaces: Low rents of rehabilitated old industrial spaces for creative uses.
Memory: Interpretation Center of the Industrial Memory of Zorrotzaurre and Bilbao.
2.0: Support the creation of a 2.0 community made up by our zawpers.

Ibai Acevedo (Barcelona) presents “Basado en sueños reales” at Belaza Gallery (Bilbao).
We visited the studio of Fernando Biderbost (Bilbao, 1955) and this is how it went.
Self-taught artist, Biderbost began his artistic career in the mid seventies linked to the major artistic movements “bilbainos”.
A bit of music… jazz it was.

Fernando belongs to the second generation of “patches” painters of the Basque country. Their codes, move ‘abstract expressionist, with some subtle oneiric baggage-laden attachments’.
Fernando Biderbost uses various materials for his artistic creations, such as oil paiting, gouache, pencil…
Biderbost uses a wide variety of masses of color creating chromatic nuances.

If Emory Lane, Naiara Goikoetxea second exhibition ran between the trees of a forest, among patches and ghosts of memory of a evoked past, Hegorama is like a journey into the rabbit hole. Enter this hole is dig in yourself, take the good and bad out and try to reflect it. Entering is learn to fly.
The process this time is more important than ever, the result: a collection of images (photo, painting, etc.) that hold the keys of the trip.

Todo está ligado, nada es casual. Si Emory Lane, la segunda exposición de Naiara Goikoetxea recorría un bosque entre cuyos árboles aparecían retazos, fantasmas de la memoria y evocaba a un pasado, Hegorama es como un viaje al interior de la madriguera del Conejo.
Entrar en la madriguera supone hurgar en uno mismo, forzarse a hacer trabajos más viscerales, asumir lo bueno y malo que vaya saliendo e intentar reflejarlo.Entrar es aprender a volar.
El proceso esta vez ha sido más importante que nunca; el resultado: una colección de imágenes (foto, pintura, etc) que encierran las claves del viaje.
